FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN YOUR PROFITS ARE AT STAKE, YOU DESERVE VERY STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

How well does ASSET RECOVERY GROUP perform?

It is always best that the first question be the toughest. There is a simple, direct, statistical answer. We are going to provide it, then ask you to read the long-form response, too. Our goal is to under-promise, over-deliver, and never mislead.

The Shorthand: In 1997, we more than doubled the national average rate for receivables recovery. While member companies of American Collectors Association (ACA) were reporting an average recovery of 16.7% (1996 figures reported in 1997), we were generating 33.51% average returns.*

The Longhand: You can only use comparative statistics to get a sense of how one company performs against national norms. We would not want anyone to think that by switching from a traditional collection agency to ASSET RECOVERY GROUP, they will automatically double their recovery rate. In all likelihood they will not. But typically we perform at industry-leading levels. Because we believe that clients deserve high degrees of accountability, we routinely publish performance statistics. And we encourage traditional collection agencies to do the same.

By the same token, we would not want anyone to think that they can probably do better on their own. The reason the national recovery rate seems so low is simple: by the time most delinquent receivables are turned over, the creditor has all but given up hope of recovery. As in much of life, timing is critical to success.

When should delinquent accounts be turned over?
The earlier, the better. ACA research shows that receivables go into free foil after the due date passes. Nationally, the average bill is placed with an agency 245 days into the negligence. Statistically, the overdue dollar's value has already dropped to about 20~. No wonder the national recovery rate is only 16.7%! Our techniques and systems are focused on full recovery, but our chances for success are greater if we can approach the debtor early in the delinquency. We encourage 90 to 120 days.
